Gerald "Gerry" Radke
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gerald "Gerry" Radke on August 19, 2025. Born on July 28, 1934, Gerry lived a life full of love, kindness, and dedication to his family and friends.
Gerry was married for over 66 years to Margaret (nee Nierode) Radke, who passed away in 2023. He is survived by his children Glenn (Karen) Radke, Dale (Cheryl) Radke, and Laura (Patrick) Frank; his grandchildren Adam Frank, Megan Frank, Nicholas Radke, and Robin (Tim) Salopek; his great-grandchildren Jake and Autumn Salopek. He also was preceded in death by his grandson Nicholas Schmidt.
Gerry was a Korean War veteran, serving as a tank driver in the US Marine Corps. He was also an accomplished engineer, working for several companies and finishing his career at Johnson Controls in Glendale, WI. In retirement, Gerry enjoyed whittling and was known for his hand-carved wooden Santa Claus statues. He spent many happy years as a crossing guard for Cedarburg Public Schools, where he was known and loved.
Gerry was known for his unwavering support and generosity. He touched the lives of many with his warm smile, laughter, and compassionate nature. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Per Gerry's request, there will be no formal service or gathering. Memorials or contributions in Gerry's name may be sent to the Wisconsin Humane Society.
