Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of Teresa Lynn Handeland, affectionately known as Terry, who peacefully left this world in the comfort of her home on October 14, 2026, at the age of 64. A beloved wife, cherished friend, and valued member of the community, Terry touched the lives of many with her kindness and generosity.

Born in Bangor, Maine in January of 1962, she was the beloved daughter of Gary and Corol Boulier. Terry was united in marriage to Doug Handleland on August 29, 1987, at Trinity Lutheran Church Freistadt. She was a proud graduate of Cardinal Stritch College. Terry dedicated over 30 years of her career to Dawes Transport as a collections manager where her commitment and tireless work ethic made a lasting impact. She was also an invaluable, and tremendous support to Doug and his family business.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Terry found joy in many passions. She was an accomplished billiards instructor, showcasing her skill and enthusiasm for the game. She loved playing golf and often spent evenings with friends and family enjoying supper clubs and listening to music while creating cherished memories. Known for her loyalty and generosity, Terry was a beacon of love and support to those around her.

Terry treasured her time spent in Maine at “Camp” at Pushaw Lake, hosting lobster and scallop dinners. She felt a deep connection to nature and the beauty Acadia National Park offered while hiking her favorite trails. Strolling around and shopping in Bar Harbor was an all-time favorite of Terry’s along with long boat rides wherever they went. Winters were spent in Largo, Florida, enjoying walks to Indian Rocks Beach, playing bingo with her mom, cribbage with her dad and meeting up with family and friends at the local VFW (where she was a lifetime member) to listen to live music.

Terry is survived by her devoted husband, Doug Handeland, her parents Gary and Carol Boulier; sisters, Gail (Dean) Meye, Jill (Steve) Boulier-Smith; brother Kevin (Lisa) Boulier. She is further survived by her nieces and nephews, Brandon, Brittany, Julian, Madeline, Cameron, Evvie and Ellie along with grandnieces Georgia and Nora and a host of dear friends.

As we remember Terry, let us carry forward her spirit of love, compassion, and joy. She will be deeply missed but remembered fondly in the hearts of all who knew her.

A Celebration of Terry’s life will take place from 3:00-6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Shully’s Cuisine and Events,146 Green Bay Rd, Thiensville, WI 53092. Pastor Ebert will lead a brief service from 3:30-3:45 p.m. Milwaukee Brewer attire and or bright colors are encouraged as well.
