Laura A. Frank, 56, passed away on November 22, 2025, in The Villages, Florida, with family by her side. Born in Milwaukee on March 29, 1969, Laura joined the Radke family as the youngest of three adopted children of Margaret and Gerald “Gerry” Radke. She grew up in Cedarburg, the town she loved, in a home filled with music, warmth, and support.
Laura’s musical talent developed early, along with exceptional discipline, as she learned piano and flute. Her skill and dedication earned her a scholarship to the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, where she studied Music Performance. After college, Laura took a job with Hal Leonard in Milwaukee, the world’s largest music publisher. It was there she discovered her natural aptitude for computer programming — a talent in high demand during the Y2K era — which launched a successful career in Information Technology.
In 2008, Laura founded her own home‑based consulting firm, Midwest Solutions, Inc., providing Business Analyst services as an independent contractor to various clients. Her professionalism, insight, and problem‑solving ability earned the respect of clients and colleagues alike. Over the years, Laura received numerous offers to convert to full‑time employment, but it wasn’t until 2019 that she dissolved her corporation and accepted a full‑time position with Commonwealth Financial in Waltham, Massachusetts.
Laura met her future husband, Patrick, while in college, and they married in 1991. Together they built a life marked by loyalty, partnership, and quiet strength. Laura held the family together as Patrick pursued employment opportunities in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Virginia before returning to Wisconsin in 1993. In 1999, they settled into their first home outside Lake Geneva, where they raised their children. In 2019, with their children grown, Patrick and Laura moved to The Villages, Florida, to begin their next chapter together.
Introverted by nature but adventurous in spirit, Laura embraced new experiences with curiosity and courage. She enjoyed cooking, especially while watching Gordon Ramsay and Hell’s Kitchen. Laura never hesitated to try something new — from paintball outings with Adam and his friends, to participating in Women in the Outdoors programs where she learned everything from blacksmithing to chainsaw operation to turkey hunting. After her cancer diagnosis in 2016, she joined Team Phoenix through Aurora Health Care, participating in triathlon and biathlon events. Whether kayaking to a near‑shore island in Hawaii, flying to Florida for a boar hunt, operating a forklift, or skydiving, Laura never shied away from a challenge. She had a positive impact on everyone she met.
Laura is survived by her husband, Patrick; her son, Adam; her daughter, Margaret (“Megan”); her brothers, Glenn (Karen) and Dale (Cheryl); and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald “Gerry” Radke and Margaret A. Radke (née Nierode).
A service was held in Florida shortly after her passing. To honor Laura’s final wish of returning home to Cedarburg, a second Memorial Service with a tribute to Margaret and Gerry will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at Advent Lutheran Church, W63 N642 Washington Ave., Cedarburg, WI 53012. The family will receive friends and relatives at the church from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Laura’s interment will immediately follow the service in the Advent Lutheran Prayer Garden and Columbarium.
Laura will be remembered for her intelligence, authenticity, quiet confidence, strength, and the way she touched the lives of those around her. She was steadfast and true — a loving wife, devoted mother, trusted sister, and cherished friend.
