Mr. William Albert Schmucker was born in Pittsburgh, PA on Christmas day 1931. He married his high school sweetheart, in June of 1952. William graduated from the Carnegie Institute of Technology, which is currently a part of the Carnegie-Mellion University of Pittsburgh, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. During his career of more than 50 years, he worked for United States Steel, Kaiser Engineering, Allis-Chalmers, HOH Engineering, and Odermath. He was a registered professional in five states and held four patents on his machine designs. As a lifetime member of the Association for Iron & Steel Technology, he had several published articles in engineering magazines. In his many travels for work and pleasure, he visited twenty eight of our United States and eleven countries. William enjoyed the game of golf, reading his newspaper and watching the news. His wife of fifty eight years, Doreen, preceded him in death in 2010. He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie Lee (the late Robert) Steele, his son Alan (Mary) Schmucker, five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, all of whom reside in Wisconsin. William passed away of natural causes at his home while surrounded by his family on Friday, February 23, 2018 at the age of 86.
Funeral services will be held at 5:30PM on Friday, March 2nd at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington. William will be laid to rest beside his wife in St. Mary Mausoleum, Port Washington, the following day.
