IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William D.
Reedus
November 23, 1937 – November 12, 2025
William Davis Reedus of Mequon passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the age of 87. He was born on November 23, 1937, to William and Mary (Cabknor) Reedus in Huntsville, Alabama.
William grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and later resided in Milwaukee. In early childhood he lost his dad to TB. The family then moved to Cleveland, Ohio. There, at age 20, he met Sandra L. Diggins whom he married on April 22, 1961, in Waukegan, Illinois.
William obtained a job as a mechanic with Ryan Motors for a while before he made a career change and started a new job with Quality Engine and Transmission where he worked with William Schultz for many years. William later decided to open his own auto repair and autobody shop, Capital Engine and Transmission. He and Sandra had a very successful business, with loyal workers James Hull and Tom Mattox by their side. Often, you could find William working as a Master Engine Builder and in body shops restoring cars and engines, where his specialty was working on the Cadillac North Star aluminum engines when they were first introduced. After William retired he did side work with his good friends James and Tom. He was always shuffling around doing something.
William was a proud member of the West Layton Assembly of God, and more recently enjoyed spending time with his daughter while attending Life Church in Milwaukee. William was a lover of many things; he loved the outdoors and was a passionate hunter and fisherman. Most of all, William loved his family and cherished time spent together on fishing trips in Oshkosh and at family cookouts for the holidays.
William's memory will forever be remembered by his daughters, Cynthia Renee (Dwayne) Johnson and Mary Carol (Noel Jr.) Cintron; grandchildren Steven Craig Givens (Elpidia) Reedus, Karuthus 'Rudy' (Cassandra) Johnson Jr., Racheal Lindsey (Elgin) Rich, Hannah Alise (Christian) Strutz, Noel Cintron III, and Gabriel Peter (Lilianny) Cintron. William is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, sister Reatha Nell Reedus and niece Dr. Desiree Kimberly Reedus MD, sisters DeLand Saunders, Wanda Landrum and Elaine Atkins, other family including Debra (Monte) Jackson and daughter Tiana, further relatives, many customers and friends.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Sandra Diggins, his parents, stepfather William Homer Binford, as well as his brother Johnny O'Neal Binford and sister Deirdre Boyd.
William will be laid to rest at Immanuel Cemetery in Cedarburg on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 2PM.
