William R. Barber 80 of Town of Fredonia passed away peacefully Thursday April 11 2013 at home. William was born September 11 1932 to the late Bernard and Myra (Heiser) Barber. He served in the Korean War from 1950-1954 as a Private First Class. On July 5 1958 he married Marlene Bublitz. William was employed for 41 years at Modern Equipment where he worked as a Draftsman Engineer. He enjoyed doing carpentry projects around the home building model airplanes and rockets with his sons and gardening. He was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church Fredonia. In addition to his wife of 54 years survivors include their four children; Jeffrey Barber Saukville; Beth (Kim) Barber-Hansen Mequon; Bonnie (Dean) Brookins Saukville and David (Cindy) Barber Fredonia; seven grandchildren; Ashley (Kevin) Brookins-Sweeney Jason Barber Olivia Hansen Elyse Hansen Adam Brookins Joseph Barber and Ellie Barber. He is further survived by his sister Naomi Kultgen of Port Washington. Visitation will be Tuesday April 16 2013 at St. John's Lutheran Church Fredonia from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. with the funeral service following at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery on Wednesday morning on April 17 2013. The Rev. Robert Zick will officiate. Memorials are appreciated to St. John's Lutheran Church for their Shut-in Ministry or to the Alzheimer's Association.
