William D. Mann Sr. "Doug"
William "Doug" Mann, of Port Washington, passed away after a brief illness in the morning hours of Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Sharon S. Richardson Hospice Center in Sheboygan Falls. He was 73 years old. Doug was born in Bremerton, WA on April 1, 1942, son of William H. Mann, and Wilma (Crayne) Mann. Doug grew up at the base of Mt. Adams in Glenwood, WA. After high school, he enlisted in the US Army, being honorably discharged in 1965. On August 15, 1964 he married Karen Schultz at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Milwaukee. Doug worked as a CIDL truck driver for local freight trucking firms, retiring in 2013. He was a proud member of Teamsters Local 200 where he was a "Million Miler". He was also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Port Washington and enjoyed reading the newspaper, fishing, hunting and spending time down at the lake front. He enjoyed living in Port Washington, attending all the local festivals.
Doug is survived by his wife Karen of Port Washington and two children William D. Mann Jr. and Kimberly Mann of Port Washington. He is further survived by two grandchildren Bryce and Ethan Mann, three sisters Donna Montgomery, Debra Sexton and Darla Henderson all of Glenwood, WA, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Port Washington on Tuesday, October 27th from 4-6 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 6 PM, followed by Military Honors. He will be laid to rest in Wisconsin Memorial Park Cemetery in Brookfield at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials suggested. Due to the lateness of hour and location, no food or refreshments will be served. The Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington, is honored to serve the family.
