WILLIAM L. HOLCOMB Mr. William Holcomb passed away at his home on Lakeview Ridge Road in the Town of Belgium in the early morning hours of Wednesday September 28 2011. He was 75 years old. William was born in Trout Lake MN on May 13 1936 son of Cecil L. and Jennie Ahola Holcomb. After he received his high school diploma Bill went into the US Army. When he left the service he continued his education at a technical school in Minneapolis. William was united in marriage with Sue Burrough on September 14 1964 in Lander WY. He entered the US Postal Service and worked for many years in Lander and Fort Washakie WY retiring in 1992 as Postmaster. He moved to Port Washington in 2002 and later to the Town of Belgium in 2009. Mr. Holcomb was an environmentalist avid bicyclist hunter and backpacker covering a lot of trails in the Rocky Mountain range of Wyoming. He also enjoyed coaching swimming woodworking projects and photography. William was a role model for living life to the fullest even during his more than ten year struggle with Huntington's disease. He is survived by two daughters: Terrill (Barry) Alleman of Casper WY and Stephanie (David) Bernander of Belgium. He is further survived by 3 grandchildren: Easton Alleman of Casper WY Jolene Luther and Ronald Bernander both of Belgium his former wife Sue Holcomb of Vancouver WA 5 step-grandchildren nieces nephews other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Ralph Holcomb. A Memorial Service will take place at 1PM on Sunday October 2 at the Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington (1600 W. Grand Ave.). Chaplain Marianne Brandt will officiate. The family will recieve visitors at the Funeral Home Sunday from 12 noon until services at 1PM. Following the service there will be a gathering at the Barnander home. William will be laid to rest beside his parents at Lakeview Cemetery in Coleraine MN. Memorials are suggested to the Huntington's Disease Society of America (HSDA).
