Mr. Bill Greisch, of East Whitefish Road in Port Washington, passed away at his home Sunday afternoon, January 15, 2017, following a brief battle with brain cancer. He was 81 years old. Bill was born in Port Washington on March 6, 1935, son of Mathias and Florence Moegenburg Greisch. He attended local schools, graduating from Port Washington High School in 1953 where he had been a stand-out athlete, earning MVP of the football team and state track championships. On September 15, 1958 Bill was united in marriage with Lois Lamb at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Dacada. The couple settled in Port Washington and started their family. Bounce worked at Greisch Plumbing & Heating with his father and brother. He later owned the business with his brother until he retired in 1997. Mr. Greisch had been an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Port Washington, as well as a member of American Legion Post 82, Plumbers Local 75, and a former member of Kiwanis. He carried his love of sports throughout his life watching the Packers, the Brewers and all of his grandchildren 's activities. He enjoyed going to the family cabin in Three Lakes, WI, hunting, fishing, playing cards and spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Greisch is survived by his wife Lois, and their five children: Jacklyn (Doug) Schwanz of Port Washington, Jan (John) Lanser of Port Washington, William (Betsy) Greisch of Appleton, Robert (Amy) Greisch and Tim (Amy) Greisch, both also of Port Washington, 20 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by brothers James (Jennie) Greisch and Tom (Mary) Greisch, sister Carol (Don) Peiffer, all of Port Washington, numerous nieces & nephews, other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, infant brother Robert, grandson Jackson Lanser and granddaughter Anna Greisch. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1PM on Saturday, January 21 at St. John XXIII – St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church, 1800 N Wisconsin St., Port Washington. Father Patrick Wendt will preside. Mr. Greisch will be laid to rest with Military Honors at St. Mary's Mausoleum, Port Washington. The family will receive visitors at CHURCH on Saturday, January 21st from 10AM until services at 1PM. The Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
