William "Bill" Flatley, of Port Washington, passed away in the evening hours of Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Lincoln Village where he had been a resident. He was 79 years old.
Bill was born in Milwaukee on April 13, 1940, son of James Flatley and Marieta (nee Killian) Flatley. He grew up in Milwaukee and graduated from St. John's Cathedral High School with the class of 1958. After high school, Bill enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. He was honorably discharged in 1964. On February 23, 1963 he married Kathleen "Kay" Beamer at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Wauwatosa.
Bill worked as a truck driver for many area companies. He was very proud of the fact that he had a perfect driving record for over 35 years. Bill enjoyed reading and listening to rock and roll.
Bill is survived by his wife Kay of Port Washington, two sons, Patrick (Patricia) Flatley of Las Vegas, NV, and Shaun (Sonja) Flatley of Corpus Christi, TX. He is further survived by three grandchildren: William, Logan, and Christina Flatley, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Michael, and his sister Jane Dugan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 9th, at 2:30 PM at St. John XXIII Catholic Parish - St. Mary's Church, 451 N. Johnson St. Port Washington. Father Patrick Wendt will preside over the Mass. He will be laid to rest with military honors at St. Mary's Parish Cemetery, Port Washington. Visitation will take place at the CHURCH on Friday, August 9th from 1:30-2:30 PM. The Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington is honored to serve the family.
