Wiliam "Bill" P. Stuettgen
Longtime Richfield, WI, resident Bill Stuettgen passed away unexpectedly on Thursday August 28, 2025 at the age of 91. He was born on December 2, 1933, the son of William and Katherine (nee Becker) Stuettgen. He served his country in the US Army as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division. Bill was united in Holy Matrimony to Yvonne Schuster on October 13, 1956 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Menomonee Falls. Bill was a member of the Richfield Fire Department, joining the RFD at the age of 16.
Survived by his wife Yvonne; children Michele (Jeffery) Arnold, Mary Lynn (the late Thomas) Frase, Marlene (Jim) Halopka and William "Buzz" L. Stuettgen; grandchildren Bryan Arnold, Brenda (Travis) Punke, Michael Frase, Nicholas (Elizabeth) Frase and Lisa (John) O'Flanagan; great grandchildren Bella Frase, Leo Punke, Ruby Punke and Brooklyn O'Flanagan; sister Karen (Lloyd) Fetkenhauer; brother-in-law Gene (Carlene) Schuster and sister-in-law Lousie Schmitz. Bill was an avid fisherman and deer hunter. He enjoyed collecting maple syrup and catching turtles. He was known for his delicious turtle soup. He was the owner of Bill's Bottle Gas and sponsored a bowling team for many years.
Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM on Friday October 3, 2025 at St. Boniface Catholic Parish, W204 N11940 Goldendale Rd in Germantown. Burial with Military Honors in the church cemetery to follow. The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday at the church from 9:30 -11:00 AM. A reception will be held after the funeral at the Richfield Fire Hall. Memorials in Bill's name to the Stars and Strips Honor Flight, are appreciated.
