Wilfred J. Couture Bill Mr. Bill Couture a longtime resident of Saukville passed away late Sunday evening at Ellen's Home in Port Washington. He was 94 years old. Bill was born March 18 1920 in Escanaba MI the son of Joseph and Lena Godin Couture. After high school Bill proudly served his country in the United States Army. On June 20 1942 he was united in marriage with Julia Kovach in Milwaukee. Bill worked as a machinist at Mercury Marine for 28 years and a longtime bartender at the Chalet on the Lake in Mequon. He enjoyed woodworking reading baking and doing crossword puzzles Bill is survived by his children: Janine (Bruce) Harwood of Frederick Maryland Adrienne (Paul) Laubenstein of Port Washington Sue (Larry) Conway of Random Lake William Couture of Saukville and Julie (Jim) Russell of Port Washington. He is further survived by 6 grandchildren: Christopher Robin Cindy Dan Jorji and Jaime 11 great-grandchildren 2 sisters-in-law: Roberta (Harold) Nutting of CO and Kay Maris of NC nieces nephews many friends at Ellen's Home other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents 3 brothers and 6 sisters. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:30PM on Wednesday August 20 2014 at Eernisse Funeral Home 1600 W. Grand Ave. in Port Washington. Bill will be laid to rest beside his wife at Holden West Cemetery in Port Washington. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3-4:30. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Horizon Hospice or the Ozaukee Humane Society. The Eernisse Funeral Home Port Washington is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
