Obituary

WILBERT J. PROM Bill Mr. Bill Prom of Walters St. in Port Washington passed away at his residence surrounded by his loving family on Saturday evening March 18 2006. He was 83 years old. Bill was born in the Town of Port Washington on May 7 1922 son of Nicholas B. and Barbara Schueller Prom. After he completed his schooling Bill served his country in the US Army Air Corp. On September 9 1949 Bill was united in marriage with Mildred Millie Bichler at Holy Cross Catholic Church. The couple settled in Port Washington to raise their family of six children. Mr. Prom was in the automobile industry and was the owner of West Side Auto Service in Port Washington for 36 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church the Holy Name Society and the Catholic Order of Foresters was a 50+ year member of the American Legion Post 82 and was a former member of the Automobile Association of Wisconsin. He was an avid sheepshead player and had belonged to a neighborhood card club for 57 years. Bill also enjoyed fishing traveling watching sports and spending time with his family. He was often seen in the company of his loving dog Rexie as the two went for walks around the neighborhood. Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years Millie their six devoted children: Ken (Jacque) Prom Laguna Niguel CA David (Diva) Prom Houston TX Jean (Jerry) Kopstein Mundelin IL Steve (Grace Tootsie) Prom Port Washington Jeff (Gerianne) Prom New Berlin and Pat (Laurie) Prom East Dundee IL 13 cherished grandchildren: Clinton Tina Joe Amanda Bill Kim Bradley Emily Nathan and Jared Prom Jenny and Jeremy Kopstein Stephanie (Cory) Laabs and two brothers: Arnold (Shirley) and Ralph (Kathy) Prom both of Grafton. He is further survived by brothers- and sisters-in law Harriet Prom of Saukville Kathleen Prom of Grafton Delores Tillie Prom of the Town of Port Washington June (Bob) Williams of Brookfield James (Cheryl) Bichler of Menomonee Falls Charles (Peggy) Bichler of Belgium and Barbara Bichler of Port Washington nieces nephews other relatives and many good friends. He is also survived by his dear companion Rexie the dog. He is preceded in death by his parents Nicholas and Barbara Prom and 3 brothers: Clarence Herbert and Marvin Prom. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday March 25th 10:30 AM from the Funeral Home going to St. Mary's Catholic Church for mass at 11AM. Fr. Allan Sommer will officiate. Entombment will follow later that day at St. Mary's Mausoleum Port Washington. The family will receive visitors at the Eernisse Funeral Home 1600 W. Grand Ave. (Hwy 33 LL) in Port Washington on Friday from 4-8PM and again on Saturday from 9:30 -10:30 AM.
