Longtime Town of Cedarburg resident Werner F. Calenberg passed away at the Harbor Cove Campus in Port Washington on Wednesday April 11, 2018. He was 88 years old. Survivors include his significant other Barb Liebnow of Cedarburg; children Mary Jo (James) Bohn of Grafton, Mark Calenberg of Corvallis, MT John (Sara) Calenberg of Glen Ellyn, IL and Paul (Richard Nimke) Calenberg of Eau Claire; sisters Janet Ladwig of Tucson, AZ and Arlene Jones of Hartford; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Barbara in 2003 and his grandson Andrew Calenberg in 1985. Werner was born in Hartford, WI on August 15, 1929, the son of Philip and Ann (nee Werner) Calenberg. He went on to graduate from Boy's Tech High School in Milwaukee, WI. After serving his country in the US Army during the Korean War, Werner was united in marriage to Barbara Quest on May 29, 1954. Werner then started his long work career at the Wisconsin Electric Company. While at the power company he worked as a Foreman, Trouble Shooter, and served as a Union Steward. He also enjoyed coaching Pony League baseball, which was a citywide youth league in Milwaukee. In 1972 the Calenberg Family moved from Milwaukee to the Town of Cedarburg. For many years Werner served his new community as the Cedarburg Town Constable. In retirement he enjoyed riding his Harley and fishing. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday April 21, 2018 at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church-North, 1375 Covered Bridge Rd, Cedarburg, WI 53012. Inurnment with Military Honors to follow at the church cemetery. Memorials to the House of Peace/St. Ben's Community Meal Program, 1702 W. Walnut St., Milwaukee, WI 53005, appreciated.
