Mr. Wayne Bittner of Riverside Drive in Saukville passed away at Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon Wednesday morning February 5 2014 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was 62 years old. Wayne was born in Little Kohler on May 29 1951 son of Donald and Valeria Depies Bittner. He attended local schools and graduated from Random Lake High School with the Class of 1970 before entering the US Army. He moved to Saukville in 1975. Wayne was united in marriage with Diane Arndt on June 19 1982 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Saukville. The couple settled in Saukville and started their family. Mr. Bittner worked as a landscaper for Gene Fransee Sons Nursery in Saukville for 25 years. He enjoyed working with his hands and being outside as well as socializing. Wayne was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and American Legion Post 2930. Attending auctions and collecting things nobody else has was a passion of his and he leaves many collections behind that include sports memorabilia collectors glasses and beer signs. Wayne is survived by his wife Diane and their three children: Jamie (Max) Bernhardt of Milwaukee Justin and Josh Bittner both of Saukville and two grandchildren Devin and TruLyn. He is further survived by his mother Valeria Bittner of Saukville 4 brothers: Daniel (Eileen) Bittner of Fredonia Alan Bittner of Oostburg Thomas Bittner and John Bittner both of Port Washington 4 sisters: Sandra (Elroy) Berres of Fredonia Sharon (William) Hagel of Random Lake Kathy Bittner and Patricia Bittner also of Port Washington nieces nephews other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Donald step-son Jason TeStroete and parents-in-law Vernon and Marcie Arndt. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon on Saturday February 8th at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church 1800 N. Wisconsin St. Port Washington. Interment with Military Honors will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery Saukville. The family will receive visitors Friday evening February 7th from 5-8PM at the Eernisse Funeral Home 1600 W.
