Obituary

WARREN R. REHFELDT Mr. Warren Rehfeldt of New Port Vista Drive in Port Washington passed away at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton on Friday January 24 2014. He was 82 years old. Warren was born in Appleton on October 19 1931 son of Carl and Helen Knuth Rehfeldt. He graduated from Appleton High School with the Class of '49 and earned his Bachelors Degree in Geology from Lawrence University. Warren enlisted in the US Army and proudly served during the Korean War with the 1st Field Artillery Forward Observation Battalion. On October 13 1962 united in marriage with Judy Treml at St. John's Lutheran Church in Luxemburg WI. The couple raised their family in Sheboygan. Mr. Rehfeldt was a mining geologist in Canada and Africa exploring for iron ore and copper. In Washington DC he assisted in writing the EPA Regulations for Nuclear Waste Repositories and later worked at the Oak Ridge National Lab in Tennessee as an environmental geologist. Warren and Judy moved to Watertown after he retired in 1995 and moved to the Port Washington area in 2008. Mr. Rehfeldt enjoyed woodworking landscaping and perfecting his cooking skills on the grill. He was the editor of the Newsletter for the 1st Field Artillery Observation Battalion Association and a member of Port Washington VFW Post 5373. Warren is survived by his wife Judy and their three children: Mike (Carolyn) Rehfeldt of Cedarburg Sarah Rehfeldt of Ashland OR and Peter Rehfeldt of Sheboygan. He is further survived by two granddaughters Lauren and Angela Rehfeldt of Cedarburg nieces nephews other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents brother Carl Rehfeldt and sisters Eunice Linsley and Lois Muenster. A Memorial Service will be held at 11AM on Friday January 31st at the Eernisse Funeral Home 1167 Washington Ave. Cedarburg. Pastor Jim McKenzie will preside. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home on Friday from 10-11AM with a Military Walkthrough by VFW Post 7588 at 10:45 AM. Memorials are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project in lieu of flowers. Online condolences may be left at www.eernissefuneralhome.com .
