At a young age she found the Lord through the Church of God of Anderson, IN. After moving to Wisconsin, she attended the Church of God in Sheboygan and Milwaukee, the Evangelical Free Church in Sheboygan, and Open Door Bible Church in Port Washington.
Following Jesus Christ was her strongest desire. Her devotion to the Lord could be seen in her Scripture reading, prayers, and her selfless service to others.

In her younger years, Wanda was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader and taught Sunday School. She was also known for her knack of correcting grammar, and her southern accent and charm.
