Mr. Walter M. Streff of Port Washington passed away unexpectedly Thursday May 22 2014 at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. He was 87 years old. Wally was born December 2 1926 in Port Washington the son of Peter and Anastasia Daisy Decker Streff. Wally left school during his senior year to join the United States Coast Guard where he proudly served his country during World War II. On October 2 1948 he was united in marriage with Janice Leak at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Port Washington. For nearly 40 years he worked for WI Bell (currently ATT) as a repair service man. Wally was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Saukville and had previously belonged to VFW Post #5373. He enjoyed gardening fishing working on his car collection model trains and going to breakfast with Dick and Dennis. Wally is survived by his wife Janice of Port Washington and their children: Susan Asherman of Milwaukee Michael (Naoe) Streff of Tampa Bay FL Patrick (Debbie) Streff of Oak Creek Peter Streff of Port Washington and Wendy (Rick) Harmon of West Bend. He is further survived by 10 grandchildren: Monica Thein Morgan Kluck Tory and Whitney Harmon and Stephanie Candice Kelly Brian Luke and Jessie Streff 6 great-grandchildren brother Eugene (Liz) Streff of Port Washington sisters-in-law Renee Streff of Mequon Betty Leak of Port Washington and Marie Krepsky of Dearborn MI nieces nephews other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his brother Lester Streff. A Memorial Mass will be held at 4PM on Thursday May 29 2014 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 145 W. Church St. in Saukville. The family will receive visitors at the church on Thursday from 2-4PM. The Eernisse Funeral Home Port Washington is honored to be serving the family.
