Obituary

Vivian Janke passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021. She was 85 years old. Vivian was born on September 27, 1936, in Cedarburg, Wisconsin to Ervin and Viola (Lueder) Graese. At nineteen years old, Vivian flew to Japan on a propeller plane to marry the love of her life, Kenneth Janke who was stationed there while serving in the United States Army. Together they had four children. Family was very important to Vivian, and she treasured the time spent with them, especially enjoying time camping together. Vivian will be remembered for being an exceptional cook. She will be dearly missed. Vivian is survived by her husband Kenneth, children Cynthia (John) Steffen, Michael (Ornella Lavecchia) Janke, Patrick (Joanne) Janke, Jonathan (Karen) Janke, grandchildren Kelley, Katie, Elizabeth, step-grandchildren Justin and Cassie, great grandchildren Alexander, Sophia, Elena, Tristan, Corben, Dylan, Robert, and special cousin Marcella Lueder. She is further survived by sisters in law Doris Groth, Laverne Gerek, Bernice (Frank) Haupt, and brother-in-law Richard (JoAnn) Janke. She is preceded in death by her sisters Sylvia Krueger and Laurel Kressin. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at 11 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church 701 Washington Street Grafton, WI 53024. Family will receive visitors from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the St. Paul tuition fund. Vivian's family would like to thank Village Point Commons and Horizon Hospice for assisting with her care.
