Virginia M. Maechtlenbsp;Mrs. Virginia Maechtle of N. Benjamin St. in Port Washington passed away Sunday evening March 13 2011 at her home surrounded by her family. She was 89 years old. Virginia was born August 21 1921 in the town of Saukville the daughter of William and Gertrude Arentz Dickmann. On November 10 1945 she was united in marriage with Elroy Maechtle in Saukville. Together the couple ran a dairy farm just north of Port Washington for over 40 years. Mrs. Maechtle was a member of St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church in Port Washington. She was a member of the Saukville Ladyrsquo;s American Legion Auxillary. She enjoyed crosswords quilting cooking baking and spending time with her family. Virginia is survived by her husband of 65 years Elroy and their five children: Gary (Amy) Maechtle of Crivitz Paulette (Donald) Fletcher of Des Moines IA Wendy Maechtle of Port Washington Bruce (Christine) Maechtle of Port Washington and Lisa (Michael) Crivello of Port Washington. She is further survived by daughter-in-law Barb Engel of West Bend 10 grandchildren 13 great-grandchildren brother-in-law Lester (Donna) Maechtle of Port Washington sister-in-law Pearl Dickmann of Saukville God daughter and niece Cindy (Skip) Douglas of Grafton nieces nephews other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her son Richard Maechtle daughter-in-law Annette Maechtle and siblings: Loretta Grosklaus Anita Peiffer Dorina Fiedler Delores Kertscher Celestine Edward Anthony and Alvin Dickmann. A Memorial Service will be held at 6 PM on Thursday evening March 17 2011 at Eernisse Funeral Home 1600 W. Grand Ave. in Port Washington with Deacon Tom Surgis officiating. She will be laid to rest at Union Cemetery in Port Washington.
