Virginia M. Janke (nee Depies), age 87, lifelong resident of Fredonia, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2017 at Gables on the Pond in Random Lake. She was born to George and Viola (nee Metz) Depies on September 13, 1929. Virginia married Elmer Janke on December 23, 1952 and together they had six children. Virginia enjoyed going to Arlington Heights Race Track with her husband and friends, and playing cards. She liked traveling with her family throughout the United States. Virginia especially enjoyed entertaining family and friends at home and going out to eat. She loved tending to flowers in her yard and spending time with her grandchildren. Virginia will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Virginia is survived by her four sons, Jim (Barb) Janke of Cedarburg, Mark Janke of Fredonia, Hal (Lucy) Janke of Fredonia and Thomas (Caroline) Janke of Fond du Lac; ten grandchildren, Nic Jung, Michael, Mitchell, Megan, Alex, Lizzie, Emily, Jenna, Alyssa and Matthew Janke; great-grandchildren, Axel and Emerson Jung. She is preceded in death by her husband, her son Kim, and daughter Sharon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6:00PM on Monday, March 6, 2017 at Divine Savior, St Rose Chapel (305 Fredonia Ave. Fredonia, WI) with Fr. James Ernster presiding. The family will receive guests at the church from 4:00PM until the time of service. Interment will be at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery in Fredonia. The family would like to thank the staff at Gables on the Pond and Compassus Hospice for all their care and support.
