Ms. Virg Klapat of Port Washington, formerly of Fredonia, passed away peacefully with both of her daughters at her side at Aurora Sinai Medical Center in Milwaukee on Saturday morning, April 13, 2024. She was 79 years old.
Virginella was born in Port Washington on August 3, 1944, daughter of George and Eleanor (nee Buchholz) Weyker. She grew up in Fredonia and attended local schools, graduating from Random Lake High School, Class of 1962.
Ms. Klapat was employed at Port Abstract & Title Company shortly after high school. She stayed home to raise her daughters before starting at TMP Worldwide as a data processor where she worked for over 20 years, retiring in 2010.
Virg was a lifelong member of Divine Savior Parish – Holy Cross. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, always putting everyone else first. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family. She especially liked baking with her grandchildren and loved family gatherings. Recently she had developed a fondness for crossword puzzles and games on her tablet.
Survivors include her daughters Jennifer Roman of Port Washington and Stephanie Elliott of Grafton, grandchildren Kyle, Kayla and Kameron Johnson, Kelsey Roman, and Kian Elliott. She is further survived by brothers Ronald (Mary) Weyker of Fredonia and Eugene Weyker of the Town of Saukville, two nephews, other family, and friends. Virginella is preceded in death by her parents, sister Dorothy Foster, brother Robert Weyker, sister-in-law Darlene Weyker, and nieces Sharon Casper and Michelle Weyker.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 6PM on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Divine Savior -Holy Cross Chapel, 5331 County Road B, Belgium. Father Neil Zinthefer will preside. The family will receive visitors at the church on Thursday from 4pm until Mass begins at 6PM. Virginella will be laid to rest the next day beside her family in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Fredonia.
The family would like to express their sincere gratefulness to Dr. Wilfong, Davita Dialysis Center in Cedarburg, the entire staff at Aurora and especially to the Aurora Sinai ICU staff for their compassionate 24-hour care.
