Violet Schmit age 84 years of Port Washington died Saturday June 24 2006 at Heritage Nursing Home in Port Washington. She was born March 15 1922 in Port Washington daughter of the late Nicholas and Anna Bathke Schmit. Violet made her home with her sister Lucile Bartelt for many years until moving to Evelyn's Group Home in Port Washington where she has lived for the past ten years. She was a lifetime member of Friedens Evangelical Church in Port Washington. Survivors include her niece Judith (Joseph) McGinty of Thiensville her nephew Richard (Mary) Bartelt of Rhinelander five great nieces and nephews and six great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters Irene Gunther Lucile Bartelt and Harriet Eischen and one brother Harold Schmit. Funeral Wednesday June 28 6 PM at Friedens Evangelical Church 454 N. Milwaukee St. Port Washington. Interment Union Cemetery. Visitation at the CHURCH Wednesday from 4-6 PM. Special thanks to her other family at Evelyn's Group Home.
