Mrs. Violet Goss of Random Lake passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Port Haven in Port Washington, where she had resided for the past thirteen months. She was 91 years old.

Violet was born in Milwaukee on September 11, 1932, daughter of Joseph and Louise (nee Miller) Janka. She grew up in South Milwaukee and attended local schools.

On October 21, 1950, Violet was united in marriage with Charles J. Goss in Milwaukee. The couple was blessed with five children. In 1977 the family moved from Oak Creek to Grafton and opened Charlie & Vi's Tap on 12th Avenue in Grafton. Vi was very involved with the business and loved to spend time with her customers. They later sold the establishment to their daughter and moved to Random Lake to enjoy their retirement. Charlie preceded Vi in death in 2005.

Throughout her life, Violet enjoyed fishing. She also had a talent for crocheting and recently had begun weaving on a loop loom.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children Linda Wahlgren (fiancé John Bolz) of Chilton, Chuck (Jody) Goss of Pewaukee, Kim (the late Nic) Wiltgen of Cascade, and Greg (Wendilee Bustamante) Goss of Jackson. She is further survived by 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, son-in-law Richard Peterson of Cedar Grove, sister Adeline Svicek of Cudahy, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Mrs. Goss is preceded in death by her husband Charlie, their daughter Laurie Peterson, son-in-law Dennis Wahlgren, and 14 brothers and sisters.

Services for Violet will be held at 12:30PM on Saturday, January 27th, at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1167 Washington Ave., Cedarburg. Reverend Linda Westphal-Buth will preside. Following the service Violet will be laid to rest beside Charlie at Woodlawn Cemetery in Grafton. The family will receive guests at the Eernisse Funeral Home in Cedarburg on Saturday, January 27th, from 11AM until services begin at 12:30PM.
