Mrs. Violet Brabender of Port Washington passed away at Lawlis Family Hospice Center on Sunday, February 18, 2024. She was 97 years old.

Violet was born in Sheboygan County on October 19, 1926, daughter of Michael and Alverta (nee Shultz) Feldman. She attended schools near Town of Rhine and graduated from Plymouth High School, Class of 1944.

On May 8, 1946, Violet was united in marriage with Vernon Brabender at St. John Catholic Church in Plymouth. The couple settled in Random Lake and started their family, later moving to Palmyra. After Vern retired in 1981, they moved to Port Washington. Vern preceded Violet in death in 2011.

Mrs. Brabender was a faithful member of St. John XXIII Parish– St. Peter of Alcantara. She loved dancing, playing cards (especially a good game of sheepshead), and occasional trips to the casino – Las Vegas in particular. Family meant the world to her, and she loved spending time with them all.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters Kay Becker, Sally (Dick) Hammen, Betty Klumb and Nancy (Ron) Behlendorf. She is further survived by 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Violet is preceded in death by her husband Vernon, grandson Keith Becker, sons-in-law Michael Becker and Edward Klumb, sister Marceline (the late Bob) Odekirk, and brothers Julius (the late Olga) and Robert (the late Joyce) Feldman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at St. John XXIII – St. Peter of Alcantara Church, 1800 N. Wisconsin St., Port Washington. Father Patrick Wendt will preside. The family will receive visitors at the CHURCH on Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 11:30 AM until the time of service. Violet will be laid to rest beside her husband in St. Mary's Cemetery, Random Lake.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Lawlis Family Hospice in Violet's name.
