Obituary

Ms. Verna-Lou Moschella of Port Washington, formerly of Grafton and Milwaukee, passed away at Lawlis Family Hospice Center in Mequon on Sunday, August 13, 2017, following a tenacious battle with cancer and Multiple Sclerosis. She was 48 years old. Verna-Lou was born in Hawaii on July 25, 1969, daughter of Marvin Goodhue and Joy (nee Winklbauer) Ulseth. She moved to Milwaukee when she was a child, attending local schools and later attending college. Ms. Moschella worked as an IT Support Specialist at Briggs & Stratton and later Johnson Controls before retiring for medical reasons. Verna was a happy spirit who enjoyed shooting pool and playing Bingo. She was rarely seen without an iced-coffee in hand and liked socializing. Verna loved being a "local bartender" at J's Sports Bar (formerly Wagens) in Saukville, enjoying the comradery of those she served. Above all things, Verna savored time spent with her family. She is survived by her three children: Nicole (Mathew) Schroeder of Port Washington, Jeremy (Jessica Kluge) Alamilla, also of Port Washington and Cassi (Casey Carlson) Pentony of Saukville. She is also survived by her loving boyfriend Nick Schilling of Grafton, four grandchildren: Kayla, Brayden, Bella and Luka, brother Marvin Goodhue, Jr. of Kaneoho, HI, sisters Loriann Winklbauer of Port Washington and Viki-Lynn Goodhue of Las Vegas, NV. Further survivors include nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Ms. Moschella is preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Edward Ulseth, and sisters: Helen Osterbrink and Joanne Ulseth. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, August 24th from 4-7PM at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave. in Port Washington. Verna's family had planned a benefit to help with ongoing medical bills and upcoming expenses, being held on Saturday, August 26th at the Saukville American Legion Hall, with things beginning at 1PM. The benefit will go on as planned. Those who wish to honor Verna with a memorial are directed to the family's GoFundMe page: https://www.gofundme.com/pleasesupportverna .
