Verla H. Vetter nbsp; Mrs. Verla Vetter of County Road Kay-K in the Town of Saukville passed away early Thursday morning August 6 2009 at Columbia St. Maryrsquo;s Hospital in Mequon. She was 88 years old. Verla was born December 19 1920 in Carleton Nebraska the daughter of Fred and Emma Krenke Degner. On September 2 1945 she was united in marriage with Martin Vetter at Trinity Evangelical Church in Friedensau Nebraska. The couple farmed the family homestead in the Town of Saukville for many years. Martin preceded her in death in November of 1988.nbsp; Mrs. Vetter was a member of St. Johnrsquo;s Lutheran Church in Port Washington and was involved with their Prime Timers group. She enjoyed gardening needlework crafts traveling cooking canning and making cookies for her grandkids and family. Verla loved spending time outdoors and helping others in any way she could. She is survived by her three children: JoAnn (Jim) Wudy of Ft. Wayne IN Donald (Jean) Vetter of Random Lake and Paul (Laurie) Vetter of Port Washington. She is further survived by her grandchildren: Sheila Hemker Rachel Rautmann Michael Vetter Jeremy Wudy Jon nbsp;Wudy William Vetter Michelle Vetternbsp; and Alysha Vetter; great-grandchildren: Ethan Wudy Alyson and Maxwell Rautmann and Luke and Sara Hemker; her sister Ruth Horner and nephew Doug Horner both of Hebron NE other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents her husband Martin and her brother Edgar Degner. Funeral Services will be held at 3PM on Monday August 10 2009 at St. Johnrsquo;s Lutheran Church 217 N. Freeman Dr. in Port Washington. Pastor John Klieve will officiate. Verla will be laid to rest beside her husband in Union Cemetery in Port Washington.
