Verita J. Baggot Reet Mrs. Verita Baggot of Port Washington formerly of Cedar Grove passed away Sunday evening June 14 2015 at Heritage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Port Washington. She was 82 years old. Reet was born June 19 1932 in Ontario WI the daughter of Elmer and Hilda (nee Gavin) Fisher. After high school she attended University of Wisconsin - Platteville where she earned her Bachelor's in Education and went on to earn her Masters from the University of Michigan - Marquette. For over 35 years she taught kindergarten for Cedar Grove School District a career which she loved very much. On January 21 1956 she was united in marriage with Patrick Baggot at Sacred Heart Church in Reedsburg. The couple started their family in Platteville before moving to Cedar Grove. Patrick preceded her in death in 2013. Reet was a member of St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church in Port Washington. She wintered in Fort Meyers Florida and belonged to book clubs and swimming clubs. She enjoyed traveling walking reading and being with her family and friends. Reet is survived by three sons: John (Joyce) of Shiocton WI Daniel (Shelley) of Cape Coral FL and Joseph (Lynn) of Northfield MN. She is further survived by 5 grandchildren: Tierney (Mike) Joe (Rachel) Ashley Allison and Gabe 4 great-grandchildren sisters: Sharon Owens of Madison and Janet (Kermit) Bekkum of Lac de Flambeau sisters-in-law: Agatha Lucille (James) Kelly of Menomonee Falls Margaret (Mark) Dadd of Attica NY Lois Baggot of Madison Carol Baggot and Karen Baggot both of Wisconsin Dells brother-in-law Jack Emery of Madison numerous nieces and nephews other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Patrick and sisters Patricia Emery and Shirley Thering. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 1PM on Friday June 19 at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church 1800 N. Wisconsin St. Port Washington. The family will receive visitors at the church on Friday from 12 noon - 1PM. She will be laid to rest in the parish cemetery beside her husband. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice in Reet's name. The Eernisse Funeral Home Port Washington is honored to be serving the family.
