Valerie Gantner, of Sinking Spring, PA, formerly of Random Lake, WI, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at The Residence at Village Greens where she was a resident. She was 89 years old.
Valerie was born on June 10, 1936, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of John and Verona (nee Habeck) Krzeminski. On April 26, 1958, she was united in marriage with Donald Gantner at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Dacada.
As a longtime member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish – St. Mary's Chapel in Random Lake, Valerie served on the several committees, demonstrating her deep faith and commitment to the church. Her warm spirit touched the lives of many as she engaged in her favorite pastimes, including playing sheepshead with friends, knitting beautiful creations, and socializing with those she held dear. Valerie's love for life shone brightly in every interaction, and her joyful presence will be profoundly missed.
Valerie is survived by her three children: Craig (Anna) Gantner, Cathie (Craig Overmyer) Overmyer, and Chris (Lisa) Gantner. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Timothy, Lauren, Kate, Genevieve, and Julia. She is further survived by her sister, Judi Schluechtermann and the Schluechtermann family, and her brother-in-law, Vernon Gantner.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald, her brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Lois Krzeminski, and her niece, Paula Krzeminski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 11 AM at Our Lady of The Lakes Parish – St. Mary's Chapel, 230 Butler St. in Random Lake. Father Donald Thimm will preside over the Mass.
Friends and family are welcome at a visitation at the Church on Thursday July 31st from 10 AM until the start of Mass at 11 AM.
Valerie will be laid to rest next to her husband at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Random Lake.
