V. Joan Brost After a full life marriage to Alex Brost and three children Joan Brost passed away early Friday October 17 2008 at her home on Parknoll Lane in Port Washington. She was 80 years old. Joan was born July 27 1928 in St. Anna Wisconsin the daughter of Gordon and Olive Voelker Spangler. She was united in marriage to Alex Brost on October 20 1951 at St. Georgersquo;s in Elkhart Lake. Mrs. Brost was a member of St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church in Port Washington. She was an excellent cook who enjoyed traveling and playing bridge at the Port Washington Senior Center. She truly loved her family; they were her life. She is survived her husband Alex and their three children: Scott (Joyce) Brost of Port Washington Mark (Judith) Brost of Wausau and Barbara (Tom) Tveit of LaQuinta CA. She is further survived by six grandchildren one great-grandchild one sister Pat (Bud) Veit of Capitola CA other relatives and many friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday October 24 at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church 1800 N. Wisconsin St. Port Washington. Father Patrick Wendt will officiate. The family will receive visitors at the church from 5PM until the time of services at 6PM. Born and raised in the village of St. Anna Joan will be laid to rest in the place she enjoyed as a child.
