In Loving Memory of Thomas Robert Tatterson
January 3, 2007 – April 19, 2026
The family of Thomas Robert Tatterson announces his passing on April 19, 2026, at the age of 19, following a tragic accident. A lifelong resident of Mequon, Wisconsin, Thomas was a kind young man of gentle wit and remarkable depth who embraced both global adventures and quiet, cozy moments at home.
A Mission of Care and Compassion
Born on January 3, 2007, in Mequon to Robert Tatterson and Kathleen (Gruber) Tatterson, Thomas was a cherished son and a kind-hearted brother to Alexander Tatterson. A native Wisconsinite, he found peace in the state’s chilly temperatures and the stillness of winter. Thomas grew up in Mequon and attended Homestead High School, graduating in the class of 2025.
Thomas was a nursing student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. To him, nursing was a calling centered on his life’s mission of helping people. He was known for being exceptionally kind, sweet, polite, and intelligent. A fierce advocate for inclusiveness and LGBTQ rights, he believed everyone deserved respect. His compassion extended to all animals, and he held a particular fascination for sharks.
An Artist and Global Adventurer
Characterized as a quick-witted problem solver and a true artist, Thomas expressed his creativity through drawing and masterful Lego creations and a keen eye for jewelry and thrifting. Though he loved home and Door County, he was an avid traveler who explored the culture and landscapes of the England, Spain, Singapore, China, and Japan.
Whether abroad or at a local Farmers Market, he remained a connoisseur of simple joys: a bowl of ramen or some sushi, the "perfect grilled cheese" he painstakingly mastered, and quiet nights gaming in the worlds of Half-Life, Fallout, and Cyberpunk.
A Legacy of Love
Thomas was defined by the people he loved. He was a devoted partner to his beloved Kat Tarra and a pillar of strength and humor for his family. He found constant companionship in his cat, Molly.
He is survived by his parents, Robert and Kathleen, his brother, Alexander and fiancée Katie Wilson, and his partner, Kat Tarra. He also leaves behind his grandmother, Patricia Tatterson Koncelik; grandfather, Joseph Koncelik; aunts, Lorinda Gruber and Kathy Kreuchauf; and uncles, Steve Gruber and Gary Kreuchauf. He was deeply loved and appreciated by all who knew him.
