Mr. Tom Schroeder of Malone, WI, formerly of Port Washington, passed away Friday afternoon, November 30, 2018, at the Agnesian Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac, while surrounded by his loving family. He was 72 years old.
Thomas was born on August 5, 1946 to Eugene and Marcella Samz Schroeder. He grew up in Grafton, graduating from Grafton High School, Class of 1965, before proudly serving in the United States Air Force from 1965- 1969.
Following his return from the Air Force, Mr. Schroeder was employed as a driver for Heider & Bott in Milwaukee. He retired in 2008 after 30 years on the job and moved north to Malone. Tom was an avid fisherman and hunter and spent countless hours on the water and in the woods; his favorite fishing spot was Lake Winnebago, and he loved going to his hunting cabin near Prentice. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR racing. Tom was a proud member of the Teamsters Union as well as a member of Land Theil American Legion Post 470. Above all, Tom loved spending time with his grandsons.
He is survived by his daughter Jessica (Jim) Winnemuller of Saukville, grandsons Peter & Mitchell Poull, also of Saukville, sister Kathy (Jim) Fick of West Bend and brother Jerry (Sue) Schroeder of Grafton. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other family and many friends and fishing buddies. He is preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:30 PM on Wednesday, December 5th at the Landt-Theil American Legion Post 470, 601 W. Dekora St., Saukville, followed by Military Honors. The family will receive guests after the service.
