Tom Klas passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. He was 69 years old.

Thomas was born in Port Washington on April 8, 1957, the son of Daniel and Shirley (nee Verhulst) Klas. He grew up in Dacada with his five siblings and attended local schools.

Tom graduated from Random Lake High School in 1975. Eventually life lead him to Florida where he earned his engineering degree from Florida Atlantic University. He later moved back to Wisconsin. Tom worked for Brady Corporation and Scott Pump before taking a position with Wilo. He retired in 2024.

Tom loved music and was an excellent keyboardist and vocalist. He was a part of several bands over the years. Most recently the local band “Suzie and the Detonators”. He also enjoyed organizing jam bands and open mic nights. A “chill” guy, Tom was easy to be around. His wealth of knowledge made him the guy you wanted on your team for trivia and Jeopardy. He enjoyed watching Seinfeld and local sports, but was a passionate Miami Dolphin’s fan, at one point even painting his car the team colors. Above all, Tom loved his family and was very close to his brother and sisters.

Tom is survived by four daughters: Erin (Jason) Raasch of Cedarburg, Shannon Klas of Philadelphia, PA, Sarah Klas of Hollywood, FL, and Toni (Zach Wiklin) Klas of Port Washington, granddaughter Maxine Klas-Wiklin, brother Gerald “Boofer” (Judy) Klas of Dacada, and sisters Carol (Ron) Koralewski of Jackson, Jean “Beaner” Mueller of Dacada, Amy (Stanley) Lubner of Port Washington, and Mary “Termite” Peckarsky of Grafton. Tom is further survived by dear friend, Connie Didier, numerous nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. He is preceded in death by parents Daniel and Shirley Klas, and brother-in-law Dale Mueller.

A Celebration of Life will take place at Edison Hall / Inventors (305 E Washington St. in Port Washington) on Sunday, Sept 13th from 1-6pm.
