Thomas D. Bichler of Random Lake passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Oct 4,2023 at Sharon S. Richarson Community Hospice. He was 82 years old.

Tom was born on January 18,1941, in Sheboygan, the son of the late Nicholas and Susan (Mayer) Bichler. He grew up on the family farm outside of Dacada, attended St. Nicholas and Random Lake High School. He was the youngest of 14 children.

Tom enlisted and proudly served in the U.S Army from 1963 until 1965. He belonged to the American Legion Melvin Wester Belgium Post 412. He was fortunate and honored to go on the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight in 2018 with his daughter Toni.

On May 18,1968, Tom was united in marriage to Bonnie (Schoeder) at St Nicholas Catholic Church in Dacada. They resided in Random Lake to raise their children and were married for 55 years. Tom worked for the Village of Random Lake and retired from the Sheboygan County Highway Department, after working for over 20 years.

After retirement Tom enjoyed spending time with his family and attending the many sporting events or activities that his grandchildren participated in. He also had various hobbies. He liked to go hunting and fishing, made maple syrup and was involved in beekeeping. He also enjoyed working on his property, that included multiple gardens and orchards.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Bonnie and their 3 "favorite" daughters, Tory (Mark) Gonwa, Terri (Paul) Paulus and Toni (Boyd) Bender. He will be greatly missed by his 8 grandchildren: Nicole (Mitch Luedtke) Paulus, Adam (Megan) Gonwa, Kristen (Tyler) Madden, Scott Paulus, Megan Gonwa, Halle, Thea and Drew Bender.

His siblings: Robert (late Mary Jo) Bichler and Nicholas (Mary Ann) Bichler. Sisters-in-laws: Patricia (Tom) Slezewski, Barbara Bichler, Marcia Fenner and Susan Keippel. Brother-in-law: John Schmitz and many nieces and nephews, family and friends.

He was proceeded in death by his parents and siblings: Coletta (Clarence) Schmitt, Cletus (Georgia) Bichler, Vernon (Mildred) Bichler, Sr. Phillip Neri, Clemens (Geraldine) Bichler, Rita (Elden) Mondloch, Greg (Terry) Bichler, Claude Bichler, Mary Schmitz, Dorothy Bichler and Francis Bichler. Father-in-law Edward D Schoeder, Mother-in-law Evelyn (Merlin) Berth, and Brother-in-law Edward G Schoeder.

A Memorial Service will be held for Tom at 6:30pm on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Eernisse Funeral Home, 171 N. Royal Ave., Belgium, WI 53004. Deb Hamm will officiate. The Bichler family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 4:30-6:30pm. Tom will be laid to rest at St. Nicholas Cemetery in Dacada.
