Theresa F. Kempfer of Waubeka passed away Monday afternoon, April 29, 2024, at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. She was 89 years old.
Theresa was born in Port Washington on September 5, 1934, daughter of Lawrence and Elizabeth (nee Mueller) Decker. She spent her youth there, graduating from Port Washington High School as part of the class of 1952. Following, she married the love of her life, Roland "Buddy" Kempfer on February 7, 1953.
Theresa took great pride in her hobbies and passions, particularly her extensive involvement with the National Flag Day Foundation, of which she served as an officer for many years. She also enjoyed cardmaking and gardening.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons Michael Kempfer of Grafton and Robert "Bob" (Kimberly) Kempfer of Mequon, her grandson Eric, step-grandchildren Kelly (Ryan) Volke, Brandon (Kristen) Walls, and great-grandchildren. She is further survived by sister Barbara (Tom) Russert, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and good friends Rose Leider and Dave Janik. Theresa is preceded in death by her husband Buddy, her parents Lawrence and Elizabeth, and her stepfather Erv Volke.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30PM on Friday, June 7th, at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home on Friday from 5PM until services begin at 6:30PM. Theresa will be laid to rest beside her husband at St. John's the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Waubeka the following day.
Memorials in Theresa's name are suggested to the National Flag Day Foundation.
