SYLVESTER J. RIES Syl Ries age 80 years of 6776 Kay K Road Belgium passed away Thursday morning January 2 2003 at the Valley View Medical Center in Plymouth. He was born in the Town of Belgium on September 17 1922 son of Jacob and Catherine Knaff Ries. Syl entered the US Army during WWII and served with the 12th Armored Division in Germany. More recently he had worked as a driver for Schmitz Ready Mix in Port Washington. Mr. Ries was a lifelong member of Our Lady of teh Lakes Parish St. Nicholas Chapel Dacada a member of the Holy Name Society and belonged to the Hamm-Miller American Legion Post 145 and VFW post 5373. He is survived by 1 brother Nicholas Ries of the Town of Belgium 1 sister-in-law Grace Ries of Bellingham WA numerous nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends.
