IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Suzette Rose (La Corte) Gadzalinski
Travis
October 15, 1956 – February 11, 2023
Suzette passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in her home due to complications from diabetes on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the age of 66.
She was the second of four children and the eldest daughter of Anthony and Margaret (Sciacca) La Corte. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Sue grew up in Brentwood, Long Island, NY where the family moved to in 1963. Suzette was a 1974 graduate of Brentwood High School.
Suzette was 100% Sicilian nationality and was a very emotional and sentimental woman. She was quick to anger as well as quick to laugh and to cry. Ever stubborn, she believed she could tackle any challenge if she persevered. Suzette was a big fan of Peanuts (especially Snoopy), and Tinkerbell, and enjoyed reading Danielle Steele novels. She loved flowers--especially roses, and was fond of jewelry with opals (her birthstone). Family meant everything to her, and she was at her happiest spending time with them. Sue was a kind-hearted and compassionate person; she felt joy helping others and peace praying for others. She attended church and enjoyed Bible study. She was an animal lover and was devoted to her two companion cats, Jax and Daisy.
Suzette married her first husband, John Mauro, in Brentwood, NY. They had a daughter, Nicole.
Sue and Nicole moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in April 1983.
On September 6, 1986, Suzette married her second husband, Ronald Gadzalinski. Ron adopted Nicole Mauro, officially, and this marriage produced three more children; Kevin, Brian, and Sarah. After 18 years, this marriage union also ended in divorce. However, she and Ron had remained friends.
Suzette's third and final marriage was to Jon Travis. They married in 2008 but in 2014 this marriage also ended in divorce.
Suzette is survived by her four children; Nicole, Kevin, Brian and Sarah Gadzalinski and by her beloved grandson Anthony Gadzalinski. She is also survived by her brothers Frank (Diane) LaCorte of Coral Springs, FL; Joseph LaCorte of Key West, FL and sister Marguerite LaCorte. She was pre-deceased by her parents and by her grandson Tyler Gadzalinski. She is further survived by nephew Joseph LaCorte, niece Emily LaCorte, many cousins, and by her dearest and long-lasting best friend, Robyn Keogh-Martin as well as other friends. She will be greatly missed.
