Mr. Steve King of Cedar Grove formerly of Port Washington passed away Monday morning May 30 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family following a brief battle with cancer. He was 67 years old. Steve was born February 11 1944 in Port Washington the son of Leonard and Gladys Weiss King. He graduated from Port Washington High School in 1962. Steve worked at Simplicity Manufacturing for 44 years and retired as a maintenance supervisor in April of 2009 following the plant closing. On March 23 2007 he was united in marriage with Charlene Florek in Sheboygan. While his children were growing up Steve spent time building and flying model airplanes. He enjoyed gardening wood carving outdoor activities playing cribbage and sheepshead fishing and visiting the elderly with his therapy dog Shiloh. He was enthusiastic about teaching his hobbies to those he loved. Steve is survived by his wife Charlene and five children: Steven (Anne) King of Germany Lynn (Paul) Winston of Bolingbrook IL Cynthia (Duane) Waite of Toronto Canada Amy King (Dale Ball) of Watertown and Rachael Pampel of Cedar Grove. He is further survived by his mother Gladys King of Sheboygan 17 grandchildren: Brian and Kevin King Je'Mal Sydnea and Je'Rid McCormick Zoe Ashley Brian and Elesha Winston Rebecca and Cory (Melissa) Shuler Taylore Waite Nathan King Ian Noah Claire and Zach Ball great-granddaughter Milly Shuler two sisters: Janet (Fred) Krier of Belgium and Mary (Tom) Gabrich of Sheboygan numerous in-laws from Illinois that will miss Steve dearly nieces nephews other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father and a grandson Christopher King. A Memorial Service will be held at 6PM on Monday June 6 at Eernisse Funeral Home 171 N. Royal Ave in Belgium. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday from 3-6PM. In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to the American Cancer Society Great Lakes Search Rescue or your local animal shelter. The Eernisse Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
