Steven Brendemuehl
July 3, 1960 - April 30, 2023
Went to his eternal home on Sunday, April 30. He is survived by his sister-in-law Kate, nieces Cassie (Alex), Sarah (Ryan), and Nikki, great-nieces and nephew, cousins, and friends. Steve is preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Jean, his younger brothers Mark and Michael, and aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents.
Steve grew up in Mequon where he attended Trinity Lutheran Church and School. Outside of school, Steve was often getting into mischief with his brothers, cousins, and neighborhood friends. The boys' adventurous natures saw them dirt biking in the yard, catching frogs in the creek, and many other rambunctious activities. Later on, Steve mastered the art of darts and frequently brought home first place trophies.
When Steve learned to hunt and fish at his dad's side, he found two of his lifelong passions. His skills pheasant hunting earned him the nickname Beagle. His hunting and fishing adventures took him all over Wisconsin and throughout the United States. During his years of hunting, he brought home deer, turkeys, bears, a bison, and even a cougar, to name a few. He loved sharing these hobbies and often invited others to join him. He especially loved fishing in Mississippi with his dad, brothers, and friends.
Steve's mom shared with him some of her secrets in the kitchen. She passed down many family recipes, which Steve later shared with his nieces. Steve became an expert at Herb's homemade chicken noodle soup and Jean's corned beef hot dish. When Steve returned from a hunting or fishing expedition, he enjoyed cooking up his haul for family dinners. He was a master at pan frying deer chops and bluegills.
Early in Steve's career, he worked at Bliffert Lumber alongside his dad. After a few years, he moved over to truck driving and finally settled into a career with A.H. Pipkorn & Son. He had a long career in concrete and even continued on with the company when it became Concrete Plus. He worked as a concrete mason and foundation repair specialist. He was a hard worker with deep dedication.
A Memorial Service for Steve will be held at 9:00 AM on Saturday May 20, at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1167 Washington Ave. in Cedarburg. Steve's family will greet relatives and friends at a reception, with light refreshments, in the funeral home's Community Room immediately following the Memorial Service.
