Stephen A. Voitek, 85, of Oostburg passed away at his home August 2, 2023. He was born in Ironwood, MI to Stephen Louis and Mary Susan (Sopko) Vojtek on June 26, 1938. He graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 1956 and Michigan Technological University as a Mechanical Engineer. He began his career with the Ladish Co. in Cudahy, WI. It was here he met Judy Ziemann on a blind date. Two weeks later he proposed, and they married on July 1, 1961, at Sacred Heart Parish in Eau Claire, WI. He went on to work at J. I. Case Co., Harnischfeger, R. T. E. Corp., and retired from the Vollrath Co., as maintenance manager of food service where he implemented automatic robot systems for various processes.

Steve was a man of great inner strength and loved God and his family. He was very detail oriented with an incredible memory, entertaining the family with countless and endless stories. He especially loved hunting and fishing, sharing his knowledge of the woods and water with his sons and grandsons. Many wonderful memories were made at the family cottage. As a teenager he completely refurbished a '36 Dodge and drove it back and forth between Ironwood and Houghton throughout his college years. There was always a project in his basement workshop. If it was broke, he'd fix it. He enjoyed his yard, the birds, crossword puzzles, and playing polkas on his accordions.

Steve was a member of the D'Werdenfelsers, and Blessed Trinity Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife Judy and children Stephen (Diane), Michael (Denice) and Mary (Randy) Messner; grandchildren Theresa (Dan) Duffy, Kathyrn (Mirza) Isic, Jacob Messner, Sara (Jason) Watson, Nathan (Emma Gross) Voitek and Amber (Nathaniel) Pleshek; great grandchildren Stephen Duffy, Lejla and Ajla Isic and Joanna Voitek. He is further surivived by his brothers-in-law Geoffrey and Richard Ziemann and his foster sister Julia Kaucich.

Steve was predeceased by his parents Stephen and Mary Vojtek, his parents-in-law Onno and Viola Ziemann, brother-in-law John Kaucich, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral Service will be held at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls on Monday Aug. 14 at 12:00PM. Visitation from 10:00AM until the time of service. Rev. Jon Schmeckel officiating. Burial at Riverview Cemetery, Ironwood, MI. at a later date.
