IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Stephen J
Kannenberg
November 22, 1974 – September 8, 2025
Steve Kannenberg of Brown Deer passed away at his residence following a sudden health crisis on September 8, 2025. He was 50 years old.
Steve was the son of Thomas and Cynthia (nee Pagels) Kannenberg. He grew up in Brown Deer and attended local schools and graduated from Brown Deer High School, Class of '92, before taking classes at MATC to further his interest in architecture and design. This served him well in his business, Pro Finish Painting.
While Steve loved being outside, possibly riding his bike, he truly loved to build, remodel and fix things up, always striving to leave things better than how he found them. His artistic side showed through in his painting and projects. Above all else, he deeply loved his daughters and the time he spent with them.
Steve is survived by daughters Cora, Casey, and Charley, the mother of his children Danita Dreher, his father Thomas (Judith) Kannenberg, and sister Julee Mitchell. He is further survived by step-sisters Branda Gallun and Stephanie (Neil) Riley, many nieces and nephews, and his best friend Andy Luciano. Steve is preceded in death by his mother Cynthia.
The family will receive visitors at Wisconsin Memorial Park – Family Center (13037 W. Capitol Drive in Brookfield) on Tuesday, September 16th from 1-2:30PM, followed by services at 2:30PM. Interment will take place immediately after the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family to be used towards his daughters' education.
The Eernisse Funeral Home is assisting the family; online condolences may be left at www.eernissefuneralhome.com .
