IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Stephan M.
Haupt
September 27, 1941 – January 13, 2023
Stephan Haupt of Belgium, WI fought the good fight, but the Lord called him home on January 13, 2023.
Steve was born in Milwaukee on September 27, 1941, son of Howard and Julia (nee Baldus) Haupt. He grew up in Whitefish Bay, graduating from Whitefish Bay High School in 1960.
Steve and his wife of 55 years, Kathleen (nee Dunne) raised their family in Whitefish Bay. After attending culinary school in Madison, Steve opened Puccini's Pizza on Hampton Ave. A growing family led him to change careers. Steve was a hardworking and dedicated man, running his business, Steve Haupt Roofing, with integrity, knowledge and honesty until his retirement.
Steve is survived by his wife Kate, his four children: Christopher (Jessica), Minneapolis, MN, Stephanie, Whitefish Bay, WI, Virginia, Thiensville, WI, and Kevin (Theresa), Whitefish Bay, WI. He is further survived by his grandson Josef Haupt, Minneapolis, MN, his three siblings: Howard (Phyllis), Napa, CA, David (Bonnie), Green Bay, WI and Julie (Jerry) Ford, Elgin, IL., as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Patrick, and his siblings, James, Thomas, JoeAnna, and Peter Haupt.
Steve was a former member of the Whitefish Bay Historical Society where he spent countless hours researching local history. He was an avid reader and gardener, an ardent historian, and a handyman extraordinaire. Steve always looked forward to the annual fishing trip with his brothers and enjoyed spending time with his extended family.
Steve was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Grafton and a former member of St. Monica's Catholic Church in Whitefish Bay.
Steve was keenly aware of his family's love, especially in his last months. Until we meet again, "Keep the Faith."
The Haupt family wishes to thank all who lovingly cared for Steve.
