Obituary

STANLEY H. ACKERET Mr. Stanley Ackeret of Port Washington passed away at Lasata Nursing Home in Cedarburg on Tuesday evening June 19 2012. He was 88 years old. Stanley was born in Medford on November 28 1923 son of Jacob and Louisa Schaff Ackeret. He attended local schools and graduated from Medford High School with the Class of 1942. Stanley joined the US Navy and proudly served during World War II in the South Pacific. On August 21 1948 he was united in marriage with Joyce Kostner at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Milwaukee. The couple settled in Cedarburg and raised their family. Mr. Ackeret worked for Roundy's Distribution Center in Milwaukee. After more than 20 years he retired in 1988. He and Joyce moved to Lake Arrowhead to enjoy their Golden Years. They moved to Saukville in 2008 and Stan began to reside at Anita's Garden in Port Washington due to health issues. Mr. Ackeret was a member of St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church in Port Washington. He enjoyed golf and football camping with his family and good games of horseshoes cards and sheepshead. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Joyce of Saukville their 4 children: William (the late Barbara) Ackeret of Saukville Sharon (Stanley) Richards of Marshfield Barbara Cartwright of Broken Arrow OK and Nancy (Steven) Crook of Saukville. He is further survived by 8 grandchildren 5 great-grandchildren 1 brother James (Helene) Ackeret of Altoona PA 1 sister Germaine Suhfras of Cedarburg nieces nephews other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by a son Michael 5 brothers: Arthur Walter Leonard Nicholas and Edward Ackeret and 3 sisters: Estelle Niggemann Helen Brunschmidt and Sr. Frances Ackeret OSSF. A Memorial Mass will be held at 12 noon on June 23rd at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church Port Washington. Father Dennis Ackeret will preside. Mr. Ackeret will be laid to rest with Military Honors at St. Francis Borgia Cemetery Cedarburg. The family will recieve visitors at the CHURCH on Saturday from 10AM-12 noon. Memorials are suggested to Heartland Hospice the Alzheimer's Association or as Masses.
