Sophie J. Nell nbsp; Mrs. Sophie Nell formerly of the southern Milwaukee area and Washington Street in Port Washington passed away at Anitarsquo;s Garden in Port Washington on Wednesday February 25 2009.nbsp; She was 93 years old.nbsp; Sophie was born in Milwaukee on May 29 1915 daughter of Valentine and Josephine Wachowiak Kraczek.nbsp; She attended school in Milwaukee. On June 26 1937 she was united in marriage with Frank Nell at Holy Name Polish National Catholic Church in Milwaukee.nbsp; The couple lived in Oak Creek South Milwaukee and Lake Mills.nbsp; Frank preceded Sophie in death in 1989.nbsp; Following his death Sophie moved to the Sweetcake Hill Apartments on Washington St. in Port Washington and later to Anitarsquo;s Garden.nbsp; Mrs. Nell had attended St. Maryrsquo;s Catholic Church while she lived in Port Washington.nbsp; She was a full-time homemaker and had a passion for tending her African Violets.nbsp; She enjoyed crocheting and had won blue ribbons at the Ozaukee County Fair for some of her work.nbsp; Mostly Sophie enjoyed her family.nbsp; She is survived by her daughters Julianne (James) Bednarczyk of Grafton and Marjorie ldquo;Midgerdquo; (Allan) Zimmerman of Dakota Dunes SD as well as her grandchildren Anita Jane Bednarczyk of Mequon and Rev. David (Christie) Zimmerman of Clover SC.nbsp; She is further survived by a sister-in-law Rose Marie Nell of South Milwaukee nieces nephews other relatives and friends.nbsp; She is preceded in death by her husband Frank 4 brothers and 2 sisters.nbsp; Funeral services will be held at 7PM on Monday March 2nd at Grace Lutheran Church 715 6th Ave. in Grafton.nbsp; Rev. David Zimmerman will officiate.
