On Wednesday, December 9th, 2020, Shirley Elizabeth Gaffney Miller, passed away at the age of 86. Shirley grew up in Milwaukee along with her three brothers and attended St. Elizabeth's grade school and Messmer highschool. She also attended Mount Mary College where she received her teaching degree. She taught 5th grade for many years in the Milwaukee Public School system. Shirley also worked for Marquette University and was a devout fan of Al McGuire and the Marquette Warriors/Golden Eagles basketball team. She was also a long time parishioner of St. James/Lumen Christi Catholic Church in Mequon, Wis. Shirley was a loving mother to her two sons Brian Charles Miller of Phoenix, AZ and Steven Wesley Miller of Jackson, WI. She was extremely proud of her three grandchildren Grant and McKenna Miller of Jackson, Wisc and Jaxson Miller of Phoenix, AZ. She is survived by her brother William Gaffney, his wife Molly, her nieces Susan O'Connell and Dawn Gaffney Anderson along with many long time friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Marian M.and Thomas Vernon Gaffney, and her brothers Norman and Jack Gaffney. Celebration of Life to be planned in the spring of 2021.
