Shirley Ann Klas (nee Verhulst), of the Town of Belgium, passed away on January 16, 2017 at her residence. She was 81 years old. Shirley was born in Sheboygan County on May 31, 1935 to Eugene and LaVerne (nee Liezen) Verhulst. She was united in marriage to her husband Daniel Klas on June 9, 1956 at St. Nicholas Church in Dacada.
Shirley is survived by her sons Tom Klas, Jerry "Boofer" (Judy) Klas, daughters Carol (Ron) Koralewski, Jean Mueller, Amy (Stan) Lubner, Mary Peckarsky, brothers Leonard Verhulst, Kenneth (Patricia) Verhulst, sisters Sylvia Horn, Joanne (Edward) Hintz, Muriel Degnitz, Linda (James) Pickart, sister-in-law Joyce O'Brien, brothers- in-law Gerald Luedtke, Gary (Shirley) Bley, twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Daniel Klas and son-in-law Dale Mueller.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Our Lady of the Lakes St. Nicholas Chapel Dacada W4274 County Road K Random Lake, 53075 at 11:00 AM. Father Todd Budde will officiate. Visitation will take place from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at St. Nicholas Cemetery in Dacada immediately following the service. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Aurora Hospice for the care and compassion they provided.
