Sherrill Marie George, of Port Washington, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Anita's Gardens. She was 88 years old.

Sherrill was born on June 25, 1935, to the late Clarence and Agnes (Moriarty) Strahota in Milwaukee. She graduated from Lutheran High school in Milwaukee with the class of 1953.

On July 31, 1983, she married Harold George in Saukville, WI. They spent 37 loving years together. Referring to him often as "her person".

She enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers, spending time outdoors, history and reading. She had a strong faith and attended the River of Life Church in Saukville.

Those left to cherish Sherrill's memory include her children, Penny Zawadsky, Tami (Ronald) Commer and James (Virginia) Vaughan as well as her sister Karen Strahota. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren: Nichol, Christina, Kelly, Victoria, Vincent, Jayson, Abigail, Thomas, and Samantha, 23 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Harold, son Vincent and her brothers, Donald, Thomas, David, and Daniel.

The family would like to thank the staff at Anita's Gardens for the care and compassion they showed to mom while she was there.
