Mrs. Shawn Wendler, of Grafton, passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Heritage Health Services in Port Washington. She was 73 years old.
Shawn was born in Humbird, WI on December 12, 1947, daughter of Charles Smith and Alice Long Smith. She grew up in Black River Falls and graduated from Black River Falls High School with the class of 1966. On December 7, 1974, she married Michael Wendler at Mt. Hope Lutheran Church in West Allis.
Shawn enjoyed creating needlepoint on canvas, doing jigsaw puzzles and word searches, watching NASCAR, and collecting all things strawberry.
Shawn is survived by her husband Michael of Grafton, two daughters Shannon (Scott) Gurka of Beloit and Sarah (Bill Eldredge) Post of Grafton. She is further survived by four grandchildren: Shaun (Nicole), Benjamin, Cassandra, and Jacob, one brother Doug (LaVonne) Smith of Tomah, other relatives, and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers: Sheldon, Dwight, and Tim Smith.
Celebration of Life services will be held at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington on Sunday, March 21st from 1-3 PM. She will be laid to rest in Union Cemetery in Port Washington.
