Scott Volkert, of Mayville, formerly of Grafton, passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Avina of Mayville where he had been a resident. He was 58 years old.
Scott was born in Ottawa, IL on February 13, 1967, the son of Alfred and Elizabeth (nee Miller) Volkert. His family moved to Mequon in 1973, and he attended Homestead High School.
Scott married Deborah Grimm at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Fredonia on October 13, 1990.
A proud member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton, Scott devoted his time and energy to serving his community. He was honored to act as a trustee for the Village of Grafton and served as an EMT for both the Fredonia Fire Department and Random Lake Fire Department, exemplifying his commitment to helping others.
In his professional life, Scott navigated the world of information technology with great skill at Fidelity Information Services in Milwaukee, and prior to that, he made his mark in sales at Newman Chevrolet in Cedarburg, where he was affectionately known as "Camaro Scotty." His friendly demeanor and dedication to his work left a lasting impression on colleagues and customers alike.
Scott's zest for life was evident in his love for the outdoors. He cherished moments spent camping, fishing, and hunting, often sharing these passions with family and friends. Scott had a passion for pheasant hunting and helped found the Ozaukee chapter of Pheasants Forever.
A NASCAR enthusiast, he enjoyed the thrill of the race and the camaraderie it brought to fellow fans. He also enjoyed attending races at Road America in Elkhart Lake.
Scott is survived by his wife Deb Volkert and his two sons Ryan (Ashley) and Chris (Claire) Volkert. He is further survived by his mother Elizabeth Volkert, siblings Mike Volkert, Julia (the late Ralph) Lohse, and Dave (Lori) Volkert, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his father Alfred.
A celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 10 AM to 1 PM at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1167 Washington Ave. Cedarburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Wisconsin Humane Society, Ozaukee Campus.
