IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sarah Marie
(Stitt) Collins
December 7, 1979 – June 8, 2023
Sarah Marie (Stitt) Collins, died peacefully in her sleep on June 8, 2023 at the young age of 43. She was vacationing in Mexico, a place she loved with all her heart.
Sarah was born December 7, 1979. She grew up in Port Washington and is a 1998 graduate of Port Washington High School. She graduated from the University of Colorado – Boulder with a Bachelor's Degree in Business & International Spanish for the Professions and a Master's Degree in International Business. Sarah lived in Highlands Ranch, Colorado with her children Lauren and Pierce, and dog Duke. Sarah spent time in high school as an exchange student in Mexico City with the Jiménez Silva family. Sarah was adopted in spirit into their family and remained an active part of their family through her life. It was here where she developed a love of the country and culture and learned to speak Spanish fluently.
Sarah was a free spirit in every sense of the word. She sought and found adventures in every corner of the globe and had a passion for exploring. Her passport was never far from her side. Sarah traveled extensively, often with her children, and instilled this love of exploration in them as well. The water was her "happy place" and where she found peace.
Sarah brought humor, fun, and silliness everywhere she went. She was known for April's Fools jokes, pranks such as putting pretend rats in people's beds, fashioning homemade outdoor movie screens with a sheet in her back yard, and pinatas. She made sure there was a portable speaker and pool floatie at every gathering!
Sarah's deep connection with people, compassion, and generosity was extraordinary. She made dear and lasting friends in every sphere of her life, and her friends and family meant the world to her. There is nothing she wouldn't do for her children and to help a friend. She was a fixture on the sidelines of Pierce's rugby matches and loved watching Lauren perform in local productions. When her close friend was diagnosed with cancer, she dropped everything to fly out and wrap her arms around the family and help care for her kids.
Sarah is survived by her daughter Lauren (18), son Pierce (14), dog Duke, mother Mary Allen (Tampa, FL), brother Jonathan Kyle (Kara) (Tampa, FL), sister Lindsay Pascoe (Ben) (Perth, Australia), sister Heidi Hoffman (John) (Waunakee, WI), Mexican exchange family members Jaime Sr., Jeamina, Mariel, Jaime Jr. Jiménez Silva, many nieces and nephews, and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her father Donald and Mexican exchange mother Martha. A celebration of Sarah's life will be held on Saturday, July 8 at 11 AM at 800 W. Azeele St., Tampa, Florida.
